I feel like a lot of people decide not to turn to God because they feel they “can’t”. Why can’t they? Because they aren’t “good” enough, or “holy” enough. If you haven’t asked the Lord to come into your heart; if you haven’t accepted Him as your Lord and Savior, you don’t have to wait until you’re spotless, pure, holy, or.. good enough. Jesus Christ didn’t die on the cross for the righteous, He came for the sinners. Like he says in Mark 2:17, ”It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”
What some people fail to miss is, that just as much as there is a God in Heaven who loves us, there is also an enemy, Satan, who wants to destroy us. Unfortunately, when the Lord first made man, actions were made, that led the rest of the world into destruction and into sin. Adam and Eve opened that door, they turned away from God, and allowed Satan to deceive them. Now, just as much as God is alive in this world, so is the enemy. When Adam sinned, sin entered the world. But because of Jesus Christ we can be made righteous. Click this -> Romans 5:12-21 to read it quickly online, or in the Bible if you have one. It will open your eyes to so much! God didn’t want us to go through the destruction that we’re facing today. MAN allowed it. And the Lord paid the price for our mistakes.
The reason God sent His son to die on the cross for our sins is because He loves us THAT much. Jesus is the ultimate sacrifice for our sins. Because of that sacrifice, we are now able to repent and strive to live our lives the best that we can for our God. He knows we are going to mess up, we’re human, and where Satan dwells, there will always be temptation and sin. No one is perfect, no one will ever be perfect. But He wants us to strive every day, and stay in His word, so that we can get closer to Him, and strive to be more like Him every day of our lives. We aren’t strong enough on our own to deny and fight the things of this world. But “through Christ who strengthens us, we can do ALL things(Philippians 4:13).”
Now you say, if He died for our sins, can’t we just live the way we want and then repent? No. He knows your heart. Once you make that decision and ask Him to come into your life, and you surrender to Him asking Him to start making changes in your life because you can’t do it alone. He will take over. He will show you the way. And as you grow in your relationship with Him, you’ll learn more and more. Once you continue reading His word, it’ll remain in your heart. You’ll see the light in the darkness. You’ll continue falling in love with Jesus more and more, and the more you love Him for what He did for you, the more you’ll want to obey His commandments and please Him. But that all comes in time, it doesn’t happen over night.
I wasn’t always where I am today. I’ve “lived life”. I’ve lived my life the way I wanted to. I’ve made huge mistakes in my life. But, I’d have to say, if I didn’t make those mistakes, I wouldn’t be where I am today. Everyone has a story, IT’S NEVER TOO LATE. Don’t be afraid. He will start making the difference in your life, once you really want Him to. Ask Him to show you. Ask Him to open up your heart to receive His love. He’s your strength in time of need.
“All things work together for good to them that love God” (Romans 8:28). The enemy can strike you, but if you trust in the Lord, HE WILL PROTECT YOU. Satan tries to shake God’s children’s faith. He throws disasters their way, He plays with their minds, gives them doubts, etc. But take those things as tests of faith. He wants you to curse God and say there is no God because of this, this, and this. But in trials, and in pain, God wants you to turn TO Him, not turn AWAY from Him.
The story of Job in the Bible is amazing. And shows how Satan attempts to tempt God. He takes away everything of Job’s. His family, his money, his health, but God didn’t allow him to take his life. Satan was sure that Job would turn away from God and curse His name. But Job didn’t. He stood on faith. He knew it was happening for a reason. He trusted God. And although he was suffering, He turned to God for strength instead of from God. God then blessed Him 10 fold. He blessed him with so much more than Job could have even imagined.
We live in a world of destruction today, with sin EVERYWHERE. But it’s your choice if you want to live that life, and just join the crowd. God didn’t say we wouldn’t go through hurt, pain, trials, and tribulations, He just promised we wouldn’t have to go alone. We could rest in His presence, we go through things knowing we already have the victory. Hold on to His words, hold on to His promises. “But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ (1 Corinthians 15:57).”
Satan has to go to God, he has to ask for God’s permission to touch any of God’s children. The Lord knows what we can handle and what we can’t. He won’t give us any more than we can handle. When satan tries to destroy us and hurt us, God uses that to build us up, in faith, and refine us. He allows things to happen so that we can turn to Him, trust Him, and solely rely on Him. When you can’t fall down anymore, you tend to look up. Don’t wait for that day where you’re on your knees, with no one to turn to, so that you can finally look up. Don’t wait for that huge disaster in your life, for you to start looking up to the supernatural almighty God. No one is guaranteed tomorrow.
You have someone who will be there for you at every hour of the day reaching out to you. Why ignore that? Someone who laid His life down so that you won’t have to live in eternal damnation, but you’ll choose to let that go? What good is 100 good years on earth, but eternity in hell? God wants to deliver you from sin, HE LOVES YOU. He doesn’t hate any one of His children. “For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord (Romans 8:38-39).”
He wants to be your protecter, your shelter, your hope, your deliverer, your best friend, your comfort, your everything. You can choose to accept Him, or deny Him. Just remember, He loves you, He would never want to hurt His children. He has so much more to offer you than you could ever imagine. He’s so much more than anything this life can offer you.
“However, as it is written:
What no eye has seen,
what no ear has heard,
and what no human mind has conceived
the things God has prepared for those who love him” (1 Corinthians 2:9)

Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up. He said: “In a certain town there was a judge who neither feared God nor cared about men. And there was a widow in that town who kept coming to him with the plea, ‘Grant me justice against my adversary.’
“For some time he refused. But finally he said to himself, ‘Even though I don’t fear God or care about men, yet because this widow keeps bothering me, I will see that she gets justice, so that she won’t eventually wear me out with her coming!’”
And the Lord said, “Listen to what the unjust judge says. And will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off? I tell you, he will see that they get justice, and quickly. However, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?”
